Kaduna State is gearing up to highlight its economic strengths on a continental scale, as the Deputy Governor, Hadiza Balarabe, has been appointed to lead the committee coordinating the state’s involvement in the 2025 Intra-African Trade Fair (IATF2025).
The prestigious event, recognised as Africa’s foremost trade and investment exhibition, is slated to take place from 4 to 10 September 2025. It is anticipated to draw more than 35,000 participants from over 140 countries, offering a significant platform for trade promotion and investment collaboration across the continent. Organised by the African Export-Import Bank (Afreximbank) in partnership with the African Union Commission, IATF2025 is expected to facilitate business connections and economic partnerships on a wide scale.
Speaking at a preparatory meeting, Deputy Governor Balarabe emphasised that Kaduna’s participation is aimed at positioning the state as a leading hub for business, investment, and trade opportunities. She noted that the state’s strengths—including its rich agricultural base, vibrant youth population, and attractive investment environment—make it an ideal destination for investors and trading partners.
She further stated that the state delegation intends to use the trade fair to draw foreign direct investment, stimulate economic activities, and increase market access for Kaduna’s locally produced goods. These efforts are closely aligned with Governor Uba Sani’s broader economic development strategy for the state.
