The Chief of Army Staff (COAS), Lieutenant General Olufemi Oluyede, has reiterated his commitment to improving the welfare of . personnel and their families.
During an operational visit to the 332 Artillery Regiment in Shendam, Plateau State, the Army Chief commended the troops for their unwavering dedication in maintaining peace and security within their area of responsibility. He encouraged them to remain resolute and ready to decisively tackle any threat to peace on the Plateau.
To boost morale and living standards, General Oluyede ordered the immediate renovation of dilapidated accommodation within the barracks to enhance the environment and welfare of personnel.
In addition, he directed the urgent provision of boreholes to resolve the longstanding issue of water scarcity affecting the barracks community, among several other welfare-focused interventions.
According to a statement released by the Director of Army Public Relations, Major General Onyema Nwachukwu, the COAS gave this assurance while addressing troops at the Shendam base.
