Members of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) in Adamawa State have voiced strong support for Governor Ahmadu Fintiri, expressing confidence in his leadership as he takes on the role of Chairman of the PDP National Convention Planning Committee.
Governor Fintiri was appointed to the position by the PDP’s National Executive Committee (NEC) during its 93rd meeting held in Abuja, Nigeria’s capital. His selection has been widely welcomed within the party, particularly in his home state, where his leadership style has been praised as inclusive and effective.
Chairman of Guyuk Local Government Area, Mr Kassah Shallom, told Voice of Nigeria that all 21 Local Government Chairmen in Adamawa are fully behind Governor Fintiri and believe he will deliver a successful convention. “Governor Fintiri’s hard work has brought pride to Adamawa State, especially among the political class. His exemplary lifestyle and leadership are worthy of emulation,” Shallom said.
He also highlighted the governor’s previous experience chairing the PDP national convention, stating it had equipped him to surpass expectations this time. “Fintiri is a peacemaker, known for his cordial and friendly relationship with people. His inclusive style of leadership has strengthened political unity in Adamawa,” he added.
Shallom affirmed the PDP’s stronghold in Adamawa, noting that the party remains unchallenged in the state, with no signs of division or defections. “In Adamawa State, PDP is the only party. Everyone stands firmly behind the governor because of his good work,” he said.
He further remarked that under Governor Fintiri’s stewardship, the local government chairmen have become more empowered and cohesive, stating, “No one is left behind.”
Following his appointment, Governor Fintiri pledged to deliver the “best convention ever,” with a vision to reposition the PDP for national prominence and future electoral victories. His appointment is seen as a significant step in the party’s ongoing efforts to revitalise its structures and strengthen its presence across Nigeria.
His new role has been met with congratulatory messages from political stakeholders across the country, underlining the broad support he enjoys within the PDP.
